Future Leaders of the Fuel and Energy Industry Define the Agenda of the REW 2018 Youth Day

The Youth Day of the Russian Energy Week International Forum is a project with a distinctive practical focus. Every year during the interactive sessions, the participants of the Youth Day divide into teams to brainstorm and propose solutions to current issues faced by the Russian power industry. In 2017, the session was devoted to the technological development forecast for the Russian energy industry and energy efficiency of the Russian economy. Over 2000 young specialists and future of the fuel and energy industry workers took part in the Youth Day.

In 2018, the REW Youth Day will take place on 6 October in conjunction with the All-Russian Energy Conservation Festival #BrighterTogether. The programme includes the Festival progress review and closing ceremony. The Festival activities are meant to raise awareness and promote thoughtful energy consumption and the use of modern energy efficiency technologies in both households and production facilities in Russia. The Ministry of Energy of the Russian Federation and Rosmolodezh support the events.

The Youth Day events will focus on promoting careers within the fuel and energy industry. This year, the Youth Day will be distinguished by the active participation of middle and high school students and young people from other countries, as well as joint discussions in the field of energy conservation promotion on the platforms of the G20 International Organizations, BRICS, the UN, and the International Partnership for Energy Efficiency Cooperation.

“During the event young people will come up with new creative ideas that popularize implementation of modern technologies and contribute to the promotion of energy conservation behaviour. The value of these proposals is that they come from the young. With their focus, originality and critical thinking the young generation is capable of building the future. I’m confident we’ll see fresh approaches to problem solving from the participants,” said Alexander Bugayev, head of Rosmolodezh.

The key event of the day will be the traditional casual meeting, where young people will be able to address their questions directly to the head of the Ministry of Energy and the leaders of the largest fuel and energy companies.
