In connection with the 90th anniversary of the proclamation
of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia on 23 September, Vladimir Putin asked to convey
his sincere congratulations and warm wishes to King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al
Saud and congratulated the entire leadership and people of the country on this
significant date.
The two sides discussed working together in the Shanghai Cooperation
Organization in light of the decision taken at the recent summit in Samarkand
to grant Saudi Arabia the status of a dialogue partner. Mohammed bin Salman
noted the growing role of the SCO in international affairs and expressed the
Kingdom’s readiness to actively participate in its activities.
Issues pertaining to Russian–Saudi coordination in order to ensure
stability in the global oil market were also considered. Both sides praised efforts
made as part of OPEC+ and confirmed their intention to continue adhering to the
agreements reached.
Mohammed bin Salman announced that Saudi Arabia will be well represented
at the upcoming Russian Energy Week International Forum to be held in Moscow on
12–14 October.
Satisfaction was expressed with the transfer of foreign prisoners of war
who illegally took part in the hostilities in Donbas to the Saudi side, which
took place with the personal mediation of the Crown Prince.
During the exchange of views on the bilateral agenda it was stated that
trade and economic ties are developing at a high pace, trade turnover is
growing, and mutually beneficial cooperation in various fields is being strengthened.
It was agreed to maintain cooperation and personal contacts.
