Alexander Novak Holds First Meeting of Russian Energy Week International Forum Organizing Committee

Russian Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak chaired the first meeting of the Organizing Committee in charge of preparing for and holding the Russian Energy Week International Forum in 2023. The meeting was attended by representatives of the federal authorities, energy companies, and industry communities.

In 2023, Moscow will host the Russian Energy Week International Forum on 11–13 October. As in previous years, the event will take place at the Manezh Central Exhibition Hall. The main events of the programme are scheduled for 11–12 October, while Youth Day will be held on 13 October.

Opening the meeting, Novak thanked the organizers, members of the Organizing Committee, and representatives of agencies and companies that took part in preparations for Russian Energy Week 2022 and noted that the country’s leadership had offered high praise for the previous forum as well as the high level of representation of the participants, including foreign ones.

“The energy agenda generates interest in one way or another every day, as many events take place. Russia is one of the leading players on the global energy market. So I am certain that next year we will see a high level of interest in the Forum from key players in the industry. In this regard, it is crucial to ensure that the event is held at the highest level,” Novak said.

The Organizing Committee members paid special attention to the results of the 5th anniversary of Russian Energy Week, which took place in Moscow on 12–14 October 2022.

Adviser to the Russian President and Executive Secretary of the REW 2023 Organizing Committee Anton Kobyakov said that the Forum’s agenda has expanded this year despite the difficult situation around the world, and the business programme has been supplemented with new industry sessions. “Today, Russia is the centre of growth for the new global energy industry. Our country has unique technological capabilities in the commodity sector. The key role of Russian companies on the global energy market should also be noted: the example of international cooperation in the Arctic zone proves that our foreign partners are interested in developing joint projects. I am certain that REW 2023 will once again bring together representatives of dozens of foreign countries at a single platform, and the discussions held during the Forum will once again outline the trends in the industry’s development in the near future,” Kobyakov said.

The Russian Energy Week International Forum is a key international platform for discussions about current trends in the development of the fuel and energy industry. The event is traditionally held at the highest level and attended by leaders of the largest companies in the energy industry. This year, REW included over 70 events with more than 270 speakers. More than 3,000 participants and media representatives from Russia and 83 foreign countries and territories took part in the Forum. The event is organized by the Roscongress Foundation and the Russian Ministry of Energy with the support of the Moscow Government.
