The Global Energy Association has completed the submission process for the Energy of Words international media contest. Between 1 April and 1 September 2024, a total of 217 entries were received from Russia and 27 other countries across Asia, Africa, the Middle East, Europe, and Latin America. Submissions from 19 regions of Russia accounted for more than half of the total entries.

The contest features nine main categories:

- ‘Best Energy Article in the National Press’

- ‘Best Regional Material in the Press’

- ‘Best Energy Article from a News Agency’

- ‘Best Telegram Channel or Blog about Energy’

- ‘Best Energy Segment on National Television’

- ‘Best Energy Segment on Regional Television’

- ‘Best Press Office in the Energy Sector’

- ‘Best Energy Article from Foreign Countries’

- ‘Best Energy Video Segment from Foreign Countries’

Contest experts have selected 46 top entries and submitted them for review by a jury composed of representatives from major media holdings, TV channels, news agencies, and business publications.

This year, the competition entries are notable not only for their broad geographic range but also for their wide thematic coverage, ranging from global oil production dynamics and energy transition prospects to the gasification of Russian regions and energy supply to remote areas. The same diversity applies to the technologies featured, including autonomous power generation sources and large nuclear power plants, which play crucial roles in energy supply both in Russia and abroad,” noted Sergey Brilev, President of the Global Energy association.

The winners will be announced at the Russian Energy Week International Forum, which will take place in Moscow on 26–28 September 2024. Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Alexander Novak and Presidential Press Secretary Dmitry Peskov will participate in the award ceremony.

Russian Energy Week is being held with the support of the Government of the Russian Federation, the Ministry of Energy of the Russian Federation, and the Moscow City Government. It is being organized by the Roscongress Foundation.
