Russia and Vietnam have good
opportunities for cooperation in the field of nuclear energy, Russian Prime
Minister Mikhail Mishustin said
during talks with Vietnamese Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh in Hanoi. “We
support the construction of the Center for Nuclear Energy Science and
Technology in Vietnam,” the Prime Minister of the Russian Federation added.
Mikhail Mishustin noted that cooperation in the energy sector plays a strategic role. He reminded
his audience that for half a century, the Vietsovpetro joint venture has been
working on Vietnamese oil and gas fields, while the Rusvietpetro joint venture
has implemented projects in Russia’s Nenets Autonomous Area.
“Naturally, we are interested in expanding cooperation in the sphere of transportation
and logistics. Regular volumes of cargo transportation on the sea routes
between the ports of Russia and Vietnam are increasing,” Mikhail Mishustin emphasized, drawing attention to the significant potential in this area.
The Russian Energy Week International
Forum, which will, as tradition has it, be held in Moscow on 15–17 October,
will be a platform for discussion on energy topics. This year, in honour of the
80th anniversary of the industry, nuclear power will be the main focus. A large
stand displaying nuclear industry technologies and equipment will feature at
the Exhibition of Equipment and Technologies for the Fuel and Energy Industry.
REW is
supported by the Government of the Russian Federation, the Ministry of Energy
of the Russian Federation, and the Moscow City Government. The Forum is being organized
by the Roscongress Foundation.
