According to the Russian Ministry of Energy, Saudi Arabia Minister of Energy Khalid Al-Falih, who met with his Russian counterpart Alexander Novak in Moscow yesterday, will return to Russia in two weeks to attend Russian Energy Week, which will open on 3 October at Moscow’s Manezh Hall.

Following their consultations, both parties noted the good dynamics of the bilateral ties and reiterated their “readiness to respond promptly to changes in the market situation in order to jointly ensure market stability in any circumstances.” Establishment of a “long-term structure for cooperation” among OPEC member and non-member countries was discussed at the meeting.

The negotiations between Ministers Novak and Al-Falih took place ahead of the OPEC+ meeting in Algiers on 22–23 September. The United States is expected to introduce sanctions on Iran in November and these topics were also on the agenda for the meeting between Alexander Novak and US Energy Secretary Rick Perry on 13 September in Moscow.
