The main events of the Russian Energy Week (REW) International Forum, which is celebrating its fifth anniversary this year, will be held on 12–13 October at Moscow’s Manege Central Exhibition Hall. Youth agenda events will take place on 14 October.

“All the events that are taking place now, both on the world stage overall and in the energy sector in particular, confirm the need for dialogue and the creation of worthy platforms for a constructive discussion and exchange of views. The business programme of REW 2022 will make it possible to discuss the widest range of issues and themes that are key for the industry today,” said Anton Kobyakov, Adviser to the President of the Russian Federation and Executive Secretary of the REW 2022 Organizing Committee.

Key sessions scheduled for October 12 include: ‘Russia–Africa: Sustainable Energy Development’, ‘BRICS+: Potential for Technology Partnerships’, and ‘Oil: Development Strategy’. The 61st meeting of the CIS Electric Power Council will also be held on this day. In addition, participants will have an opportunity to discuss low-carbon energy around the world; the creation of energy transition technologies; and the modernization of the housing and utilities services sector as a tool to reduce the energy and carbon intensity of the Russian economy, among others.

The programme will be just as eventful on 13 October. Discussions will be held on such issues as the Russian electric power industry, the digital transformation of the fuel and energy industry, and hydropower in the context of global changes. In addition, this day will also feature the annual meeting of the BRICS Energy Research Cooperation Platform and one of the key sessions of the Forum: ‘Energy as a Foundational Pillar of the Greater Eurasian Partnership’. The Commission of the State Council of the Russian Federation for Energy will also hold a meeting on 13 October titled ‘Human Resource Provision for Fuel and Energy Enterprises’.

“Market participants, investors, regulators, and experts need to get a profound and comprehensive understanding of the challenges that the fuel and energy industry currently faces. I am certain that Russian Energy Week in 2022 will become an effective platform to discuss promising areas for the development of the energy sector, and the Forum participants will be able to find answers to most of their questions,” Minister of Energy of the Russian Federation Nikolay Shulginov said.

The Forum is being organized by the Roscongress Foundation and the Russian Ministry of Energy with the support of the Moscow Government.
