Russian President
Vladimir Putin has sent greetings to participants and guests in the Russian
Energy Week International Forum 2024, which will take place in Moscow on 26–28 September.
In his greetings,
Vladimir Putin noted that government officials, businesspeople, and experts
from numerous different countries will get together at the Forum to hold a
comprehensive discussion about the current state of and prospects for the development
of Russian and global energy, including the digitalization of energy
industries, ways to increase their efficiency, and environmental safety. The
president also said that the specialized exhibition of equipment and
technologies for the fuel and energy industry that will be held as part of the
Forum is of particular interest.
“The main theme of
the current Forum – ‘Energy Cooperation in a Multipolar World’ – is very
important and relevant. It is obvious that in the new geopolitical realities,
cooperation in the energy sector should serve to strengthen national economies,
help solve priority social problems, and improve people’s quality of life. I
would like to note in particular that a meeting of the BRICS ministers of
energy will be held on the sidelines of the Forum, which will be one of the key
events of the year of Russia’s chairmanship in this association. During the
talks, it is crucial to agree on common principles for our countries in the
just energy transition, and outline ways to strengthen the role of BRICS in the
global energy dialogue,” Vladimir Putin
said.
Vladimir Putin also expressed confidence that the REW 2024 participants will hold meaningful and constructive discussions and that their agreements and initiatives will contribute to the implementation of joint projects and the development of an equal and mutually beneficial international partnership in the energy sector.
