The Roscongress Foundation has presented Russia’s key economic forums to volunteers from Russian regions as part of the All-Russia Volunteers’ Forum, which is taking place in Moscow on 4–6 December 2017. The Forum was attended by some 4,000 participants.
Volunteer Day is being held today, 5 December, in accordance with Decree No. 572 of the President of the Russian Federation dated 27 November 2017.
The Roscongress Foundation pays serious attention to development of the volunteer movement as part of the international economic forums hosted by Russia, including the Russian Investment Forum (15–16 February 2018), St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (24–26 May 2018), International Financial Congress (6–8 June 2018), Eastern Economic Forum (6–7 September 2018), and Russian Energy Week (October 2018), among others.
Between 500 and 1,000 volunteers take part in the forums organized by the Roscongress Foundation. The Roscongress Foundation volunteer corps enlists students from Russia’s leading universities in Moscow, St. Petersburg, Vladivostok, Ufa, Arkhangelsk, Sochi and other regions.
“The young activists are the ‘face’ of our forums, assisting participants all the way between airports, train stations and forum venues. Volunteers help our guests find their way at the venues, provide information or logistics support whenever there are changes, and help at agreement signing ceremonies, presentations or press events”, said Roscongress Foundation CEO Alexander Stuglev.
Key volunteer selection criteria include the ability to speak clearly, proficiency in foreign languages depending on the region, punctuality, and teamwork skills. Those qualities are needed for the volunteers to be able to welcome executives of global companies and political leaders taking part in our forums from all over the world.
