“Russia is one of the key players in the development of nuclear energy in the world”
On 14 May, President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin held a meeting with Director General of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) Yukiya Amano. As reported on kremlin.ru, items under discussion included matters relating to collaboration between Russia and the IAEA today.
“We have always supported the IAEA, from the very start, and now we are very actively cooperating with the organization you are heading. You know that Russia is one of the key players in the development of nuclear energy in the world,” said Putin during the meeting.
The president added that Russia fully abides by “all its commitments, and all the work that Russia is doing in the field of nuclear power development strictly conforms to all the limitations pertaining to the non-proliferation of weapons of mass destruction.”
In turn, Amano expressed gratitude on behalf of the IAEA for Russia’s support, “not only for its financial contribution, but also training people and helping us to strengthen nuclear security, helping cancer control and especially making very capable Russian nationals available for us.”
On 24 April 2018 at the office of the Trade Delegation of Russia in London, the Roscongress Foundation and Lord John Desmond Waverley, the founder and CEO of SupplyFinder Lda, signed a cooperation agreement.
Chairman of the Planning and Operation Committee of Japanese Business Alliance for Smart Energy Worldwide (JASE-W) Nobuaki Aoyama has confirmed representatives of the alliance will take part in the business events of Russian Energy Week.
