Adviser to the Russian
President Anton Kobyakov and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the
Russian-British Chamber of Commerce Roger Munnings met in Moscow to discuss the
participation of UK representatives in the Russian Energy Week International
Forum this year and key business events in 2022.
Fifteen representatives of the
UK are taking part in the Russian Energy Week International Forum 2021,
including World Coal Corporation CEO Michelle Manook, BP CEO Bernard Looney,
and World Energy Council Secretary General Angela Wilkinson.
“The Russian-British Chamber
of Commerce brings together more than 600 Russian, British, and international
companies that are interested in developing mutually beneficial trade and
economic cooperation between our countries. Business events are an important
tool for building such interaction. This year, 134 representatives from the UK
took part in the SPIEF, making up the fourth largest delegation after Qatar,
the United States, and Germany. We look forward to further active interaction
with you in order to strengthen cooperation between the business communities of
Russia and the UK,” Kobyakov said.
During a discussion about the
upcoming St. Petersburg International Economic Forum, which will be held on 15–18 June 2022, an
agreement was reached with the Russian-British Chamber of Commerce to organize
a bilateral Russia – UK business dialogue at the Forum, which will be attended by
representatives of the government and business of both countries.
“The Russian-British Chamber
of Commerce is a regional partner of the Roscongress Foundation. We are
interested in developing relations between our countries, and participating in
key business events creates ample opportunities for our activities. I am
confident that the Russia – UK business dialogue at the SPIEF 2022 will be held at
a high level and will provide an important contribution to strengthening
interaction between Russia and the UK,” Munnings said.
In addition, the meeting
participants discussed assistance to the Russian-British Chamber of Commerce in
attracting UK managers to work in Russia and possible collaboration in
developing cooperation in the healthcare sector between the two countries.
The Russian Energy Week
International Forum is being held in Moscow on 13–15 October. It was organized by the Roscongress
Foundation, the Russian Ministry of Energy, and the Moscow Government.
