A delegation from the African Energy Chamber
paid a visit to Russian Energy Week, with the delegation head, Chamber
Executive Chairman NJ Ayuk, meeting on the sidelines with Roscongress
CEO and Chairman Alexander Stuglev and Roscongress Deputy CEO and
Russian Energy Week Director Vladimir Zatynaiko. The meeting focused on
expanding energy cooperation between Russia and Africa.
African Energy Week, scheduled to take place in
Cape Town on 4–8 November, received special attention. “Preparations for the
event have entered the final stages, and I would like to note how smoothly
cooperation has gone between Russia and its African counterparts. The Russian
business community has been looking to African Energy Week with growing interest.
The Roscongress Foundation is currently preparing a Russia–Africa stand and
session as part of the AEW 2024 business programme. I have no doubt about the
important contribution the Foundation will be able to make to the development
of business relations between Russia and Africa thanks to the comprehensive
organizational support received from its African partners,” Alexander
Stuglev said.
NJ Ayuk spoke of the importance of Russian Energy Week
as a platform, now well-established, for constructive dialogue between nations
and businesses and the importance of having African countries participate in
the Forum business programme. Particular attention was paid to the
‘Russia–Africa’ session and its agenda with joint energy projects,
opportunities for exchanging experience, and the application of Russian
technologies.
“Russian Energy Week represents an
opportunity for Africans to join hands with Russian business and find solutions
to combat Energy poverty. It has a great
reputation for bringing world class speakers and entrepreneurs from around the
world. It is a one stop shop for us to discuss important matters and still do
deals and sign contracts of the future. Our energy relationships are key for
the future. Russia supports Africa's right to develop its oil and natural gas
resources to better its people. African Energy Week is an amazing opportunity
to go and get agreements. We seek to consolidate and build on the strong
relationship that has been established by our leaders and also BRICS nations,”
NJ Ayuk said.
The head of the African Energy Chamber delegation also took part in REW 2024 business programme sessions ‘Hydrocarbons in the Energy of the Future: Using Them without Damaging the Climate’ and ‘Russia–Africa: Unleashing the Potential of Energy Cooperation’, where discussions touched on the sustainable use of hydrocarbons and environmentally friendly energy cooperation.
African Energy Chamber delegation members spoke of how they would take the cooperation experience and organizational solutions they had acquired during REW 2024 and apply it to the preparation of future congress and exhibition events, including African Energy Week.
Russian Energy Week was held with the support of the Russian Government, the Ministry of Energy of the Russian Federation, and the Moscow Government. It was organized by the Roscongress Foundation.
