#TogetherBrigher 2020 national festival celebrates its 5th anniversary
The year 2020 marks the 5th anniversary of the #TogetherBrighter International Energy Efficiency Festival.
Millions of children and adults participate in the event every year. The social campaign will be held from August to October with the support of the Ministry of Energy, Federal Agency for Youth Affairs, Ministry of Education, Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation, fuel and energy companies, cultural institutions and public organizations. Events of #TogetherBrighter became part of the programme of Russia’s BRICS presidency in 2020 and will be held in Moscow and Saransk in October.
According to Deputy Minister of Energy of the Russian Federation Anton Inyutsyn, “Currently 73 regions have supported the holding of #TogetherBrighter 2020. I invite energy companies and regional ministries together with the youth and schools to join the following events: ‘Ecology and Energy Efficiency’ national theme week at schools, ‘Equal Dialogue’ for students and youth, Open Day at fuel and energy companies, and CASE-IN engineering championship. Modern technologies on social networks and online platforms provide the opportunity to hold many events online, and live, including quizzes and themed lessons, trivia games, meetings with energy experts, and contests.”
“Starting 15 May, we opened the application for the #TogetherBrighter national contest of creative, project and research student works. Starting 1 June, we plan to hold the national flash mob contest to support the festival and the national contest for a new official song of the festival,” added Anton Inyutsyn.
“At the interdepartmental meeting dedicated to the issues of popularization of fuel-and-energy, energy efficiency and engineering and technical education among young people that was held at the Russian Energy Week in 2019, the 2020 agenda put forward by the youth was backed. #TogetherBrighter festival is a great example of a project that was initiated by the youth and reached national scale,” noted Head of the Federal Agency for Youth Affairs Alexander Bugayev.
In 2019, the events of the #TogetherBrighter social campaign were held in 1,500 municipal districts and regional centres, with around 3.5 million schoolers, 350 secondary professional and higher education institutions, and over 100,000 preschoolers participating.
