Alexander Novak Holds Meeting with German Minister for Economic Affairs and Energy

Recent talks between Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev and Minister for Economic Affairs and Energy of Germany Peter Altmaier were attended by Acting Minister of Energy of the Russian Federation Alexander Novak, who held a separate meeting with his German counterpart.

The meeting focused on the current state of relations in the energy sphere, and prospects for further collaboration, both in terms of supplying energy resources and developing infrastructure, and fostering partnerships in the commercial sector. “A broad range of German energy companies are operating fully and successfully with Russian partners,” said Novak.

Aspects related to the implementation of the Nord Stream 2 project were also discussed. Novak underscored the exclusively commercial nature of the project, with a large number of European companies acting as suppliers of various goods and services, thereby generating jobs and public revenues for EU countries. “Without a shadow of a doubt, the Nord Stream 2 project is completely in our shared interests,” he added.
