Russian Ministry of Energy to host discussion of global oil and gas industry at REW 2018

A discussion will be held on key issues involving the development of the global oil and gas industry on the sidelines of the Russian Energy Week International Forum the Central Exhibition Hall ‘Manege’ in Moscow. The Forum is expected to be attended by more than 10,000 people, including heads of state and government, leading global experts, heads of Russia’s regions, and media representatives. Senior executives from Gazprom, Rosneft, Novatek, Transneft, Lukoil, Royal Dutch Shell, Total, and the Forum of Gas Exporting Countries, among others, will be personally attending the meeting.

On 3 October, the panel discussion ‘Global Energy 2035: Overcoming Barriers and Consolidating Opportunities’ will be held with the participation of Russian Minister of Energy Alexander Novak, OPEC Secretary General Mohammed Barkindo, and leaders from major international and Russian energy companies. Other discussions include ‘The Global Gas Market in 2030’, ‘Gas-powered and Electric Vehicles in Russia: Possible Development Rates and Strategies?’, and ‘Identifying a Strategy to Succeed on the Global Petrochemical Market’. OPEC will hold its presentation World Oil Outlook 2018. S&P Global Platts will present its forecast for the development of world energy. An expert discussion dedicated to geopolitical risks and scenarios titled ‘Geopolitical Scenarios and the Fuel and Energy Complex: the New Reality’ will be held at the Forum for the first time.

Discussions scheduled for 4 October will include ‘The Development of Pricing on the International Oil Market: New Benchmarks, Currencies and Settlement Technologies’, ‘Tax Reform in the Petroleum Refining Industry’, ‘The Import-Substitution Strategy for the Energy Sector: National Projects and Digital Technologies’, ‘The Energy Potential of the Arctic: Implementing Projects and Developing Logistics’, and ‘The Development of Independent Services and Engineering in the Subsoil Resource Management Sector’, among others. The discussions will be attended by Russian Deputy Minister of Energy Pavel Sorokin and Department Heads Anton Rubtsov and Alexander Gladkov.

Each day of the Forum features an extensive agenda for the development of the electric power industry, renewable energy, innovation, and human potential, which has a significant impact on the oil and gas industry.

October 6 will be Youth Day, which will be attended by young specialists from a wide range of oil and gas companies and universities.
