Key issues regarding the development of the coal sector are to come under discussion at the Russian Energy Week International Forum. Among those expected to attend the Forum are heads of state and government, chief executives of major international energy companies, world-renowned experts, Russian regional leaders, and media representatives. In all, the event is set to welcome over 10,000 participants.

On 3 October, a panel discussion will take place entitled “Will the Coal Industry Remain a Driver of Economic Growth in Developing Countries?”, which will be attended by Deputy Minister of Energy of the Russian Federation Anatoly Yanovsky, alongside heads of major Russian and global coal companies. One of the major topics to be covered at the plenary session, which will open the Forum, will be competition between various types of fuel and the development of ecological requirements for them.

4 October will see a number of related discussions take place, including “Industry 4.0 Technologies in the Coal Sector”, “Degasification, Extraction, and Disposal of Coalbed Methane”, and “New Environmental Safety Solutions for the Coal Sector”, which will be attended by a broad cross section of company executives and experts.

The programme for this year’s Forum covers a wide agenda, which will examine the growth of the electricity sector, the oil and gas industry, innovations, and the development of human potential, which is having a significant impact on the coal sector.

On 6 October the event will host a youth day, which will be attended by young specialists from mining companies and higher education institutions.

The Ministry of Energy of the Russian Federation and the Roscongress Foundation advise representatives of the coal sector, experts, and equipment manufacturers and suppliers to register on http://rusenergyweek.com/en/ by 20 September in order to participate in the Forum, and to receive their registration badge in advance.
