On 20 February, the programme of the National
Achievements Forum at the International RUSSIA EXPO will be devoted to the
energy sector. One of the key venues of the event will be the ATOM
pavilion. During the day, guests of the pavilion will be able to
take part in unique guided tours, attend masterclasses, and even witness a
wedding ceremony.
A wedding ceremony for employees of the
nuclear industry from various Russian cities will commence at 14:00 in the
pavilion foyer. The musical accompaniment for the weddings will feature the
composition Atomic Love by Uma2rman. Sixteen couples of nuclear industry
workers from 10 Russian cities – spanning from Moscow to Murmansk – will tie
the knot simultaneously. Among the newlyweds will be representatives from
nuclear cities such as Snezhinsk, Udomlya, Desnogorsk, Trekhgorny, Novouralsk,
and Krasnokamensk. Additionally, the ceremony will be attended by newlyweds who
are jointly involved in constructing the Akkuyu Nuclear Power Plant in Turkey.
The newlyweds will be congratulated by
Alexander Novak, Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation, Andrey
Petrov, First Deputy Director General for Nuclear Power Engineering of Rosatom
State Corporation, Vladimir Verkhovtsev, Director General of Atomredmetzoloto,
and a representative of the RUSSIA EXPO Directorate of the Exhibition of
Achievements. The newlyweds will be given a tour of the pavilion, presented
with memorable gifts from the organizers, and the evening will end with a
romantic dinner at the restaurant on the top floor of the pavilion.
On this day, visitors can explore the ATOM
pavilion through special tours. One such tour will be led by Alexander
Koldobsky, a veteran in nuclear power engineering and industry, a candidate of
physical and mathematical sciences, and Deputy Director of the Institute of
International Relations at the National Research Nuclear University MEPhI.
Joining him as guides are Alexander Petrov, the head of the press service at
the ITER-Centre, a private institution of the Rosatom State Corporation and the
winner of the Rosatom Man of the Year programme; Mikhail Polunin, the
editor-in-chief of Strana Rosatom, a corporate TV channel; and Svetlana
Romanova, the head of the external and internal communications department at
the Mars Experimental Design Bureau in Moscow. Participation is free of charge
but requires pre-registration.
A lecture programme is also planned. At
13:30, a lecture by Victoria Alfyorova, head of digitalization projects at
Rosenergoatom Concern, will begin on the topic entitled Entering IT: The Path
from Economist to IT Specialist at Nuclear Power Plants. The speaker will
review key cases related to the application of IT technologies in the nuclear
industry, share her own story, and provide insights into the career track
within the State Corporation and Rosenergoatom Concern. At 18:00, there will be
a lecture titled Nuclear Energy: Modern Achievements and New Horizons by Arslan
Zabirov, one of the leading employees of MPEI and an Associate Professor at the
Department of Engineering Thermophysics.
At 11:00, in the Laboratory of the ATOM
pavilion, there will be a masterclass titled Manifestation of Energy in the
World by Maxim Vyalkov, a young scientist from the National Centre of Physics
and Mathematics, designed for children aged 12 and above, along with their
parents. At 17:00, a masterclass titled Interplanetary Travel: Types of Energy
is scheduled for children aged 6–9 years old. Finally, at 19:00, everyone is
welcome to participate in the quiz ATOM Quiz: Energy 2.0. Participants can
either join as a team or find one on the spot. The winners of the quiz will
receive prizes from the pavilion.
On 20 February, guests at VDNH are also
expected to enjoy other interesting events from the nuclear industry.
Throughout the day, they will be offered warming ‘atomic drinks’ from Rosatom.
By answering an intellectual question correctly, visitors will be able to treat
themselves to the favourite drinks of great scientists and learn interesting
historical and scientific facts from their lives.
From 15:00 on the main stage, a concert
programme will commence featuring the participation of Russian pop stars and
groups from energy companies. The concert will also include the international
children’s creative project Nuclear Kids showcasing performances by children of
employees from the Russian nuclear industry and ROSATOM’s foreign partners.
The Forum is being organized by the Government of the
Russian Federation, the Ministry of Energy of the Russian Federation, and the
Directorate of the Exhibition of Russia’s Achievements. The operator is the
Roscongress Foundation.
