Nikolay
Shulginov inaugurated the Energy Day. The ceremony took place in Pavilion No.
46 – Energy of Life.
“The Russian
fuel and energy sector is demonstrating success on the global stage and is one
of the leaders in all areas – oil, gas, coal and power generation. Our
industries are working steadily, and we would like to show how we have been
working for the last 20 years and what successes we have achieved,” said the
Minister of Energy in his welcoming speech.
During the
opening ceremony of the Energy Day, Nikolay Shulginov presented state and
departmental awards to representatives of the fuel and energy complex for their
contribution to the development of the energy sector.
On the
industry day, the Minister of Energy also took part in the ceremony of
launching three modernised power units at Gusinoozersk, Kostroma and Perm
hydropower plants with a total capacity of 1,390 MW.
“The
commissioning of units in the Republic of Buryatia, Perm Territory, Kostroma
Region is really important for these regions, they will ensure reliable power
supply to the territories and will be a guarantee for their further
development,” said Alexandra Panina, Member of the Management Board of Inter
RAO, Chairman of the Supervisory Board of the Association ‘Council of
Electricity Producers and Strategic Investors of the Electric Power Industry’.
On site,
the launch ceremony was attended by Alexei Tsydenov, Head of the Republic of
Buryatia, and Sergey Sitnikov, Governor of the Kostroma Region.
At the
opening ceremony for the industry day, the following executives spoke about
their companies’ achievements: Oleg Aksyutin, Deputy Chairman of the Management
Committee, Head of the Advanced Development Department of Gazprom; Andrey
Murov, Member of the Management Committee, First Deputy Director General of
ROSSETI; Alexander Vilesov, Director General of T Plus; Sergey Gustov, Director
General of Gazprom Mezhregiongaz; and Mikhail Karisalov, Chairman of the
Management Committee, Director General of SIBUR.
Energy Day
is organized by the Government of the Russian Federation, Ministry of Energy of
the Russian Federation, Directorate of the Russia Exhibition of Achievements.
It is operated by the Roscongress Foundation.
