1st Research-to-Practice Conference ‘Territory of Energy Dialogue’ to Take Place Before REW 2022
On 11 October 2022, in anticipation of the Russian Energy Week 2022 International Forum, the Russian Energy Agency of the Ministry of Energy of the Russian Federation and the Roscongress Foundation with the support of the Ministry of Energy of the Russian Federation will hold the research-to-practice conference ‘Territory of Energy Dialogue’. It will be dedicated to the sustainable development of the fuel and energy complex.
The venue for the Conference will be the Radisson Blu Olympiyskiy Hotel, located at 1, Samarskaya Ulitsa in Moscow.
The conference, which will be attended by more than 300 representatives of research and educational organizations, technology, innovation and manufacturing companies, development institutions and authorities, is intended to promote the scientific and technological development of the Russian fuel and energy sectors to ensure their stable operation and achievement of technological sovereignty in the long term.
A key event of the conference will be a plenary session on ‘Developing Science in the Fuel and Energy Industries to Achieve Technological Sovereignty’. It is planned to identify priority areas for research and technological development to ensure the stable operation of the fuel and energy industry.
Participants of the conference include: Pavel Sorokin, First Deputy Minister of Energy of the Russian Federation; Sergey Mochalnikov and Eduard Sheremettsev, Deputy Ministers of Energy of the Russian Federation; Dmitry Peskov, Special Presidential Representative for Digital and Technological Development; Andrey Klepach, Chief Economist of State Development Corporation VEB.RF; Igor Bashmakov, Nobel Peace Prize Laureate on the UN climate change team and Director of 21st Century Energy Center; Nikolai Rogalyov, Rector of Moscow Power Engineering Institute; Igor Shpurov, Director General of the State Commission on Mineral Reserves.
The conference will result in proposals for the forecast of research and technological development of the fuel and energy industry, a list of recommendations for supporting promising technologies for development institutions, foundations and federal authorities, and proposals for the development of the state system of research and technical information.
“Today, the cooperation between the fundamental, applied, and corporate science and the real economy becomes even more important for improving the system of managing the country’s research and technological potential. However, as of now Russia does not have a platform for scientists, development institutes, companies, and government agencies to discuss the pragmatic angle of the status of science and technology in the fuel and energy industry. We hope that the ‘Territory of Energy Dialogue’ conference will become such a platform for constructive dialogue between all stakeholders,” commented Alexey Kulapin, General Director, Russian Energy Agency (REA) of the Ministry of Energy of Russia.
