The third
meeting of the Organizing Committee of the Russian Energy Week International Forum, which will be held in Moscow from
11 to 13 October 2023 at the Manege Central Exhibition Hall, took place in Moscow.
It was chaired by Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Alexander
Novak. The main events of the programme are scheduled for 11 and 12 October.
The
participants discussed the topics of the Forum's business programme, the organization
of the exhibition, the line-up of speakers and invitees, the preparation of the
city and its infrastructure for the event. Special attention was paid to the REW
2023 Youth Day, the events of which will be held at the Manege Central
Exhibition Hall on 13 October.
The theme
of REW 2023 will be the New Reality of World
Energy: Creating the Future. "We want to demonstrate Russia's openness to
cooperation in the fuel and energy sector with representatives of other
countries in the new geopolitical conditions, as well as to emphasize the focus
on the use of digital and other modern technologies in the energy sector," said Alexander
Novak, Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation. Also, according to him,
special attention within the business programme will be paid to the development
and use of artificial intelligence in the energy sector.
Anton
Kobyakov, Adviser to the President of the Russian Federation, Executive
Secretary of the Organizing Committee of REW 2023, spoke about the preparations
for the event. "Russian Energy Week retains its status as one of the most
authoritative platforms for industry discussions on energy. We see great
international interest in the event. At the moment, the participation of
high-ranking guests from foreign countries is being worked out. I am confident that REW will traditionally bring
together leading industry experts and representatives of the new generation in
the energy sector and will allow us to discuss the key issues of the global
fuel and energy sector development in the usual format," he said.
Work is underway to fill the Forum's business programme. It is expected
that more than 30 sessions.
In addition
to the panel sessions, the traditional award ceremony of the Global Energy Prize
winners will be held as part of the REW 2023 business programme. Sergey Brilev,
President of the Global Energy Association, pointed out that this year the
personal presence of laureates from foreign countries is expected. "As in
2022, the Energy of Words Prize will be awarded on the Russian Energy Week platform. The award is designed to encourage
journalists, bloggers, and employees of news agencies specializing in covering
key events and trends in the world of energy. Representatives of 17 foreign
countries have already taken part in the contest", he added.
Artem
Korolev, Director of Nadezhnaya Smena Charity Foundation, told about the
preparation of the REW 2023 Youth Day programme: "On 8 August, the
invitation campaign for delegations will begin. At the moment, 21 events have
been worked out, in total more than 30 ones are expected. Special attention is
paid to the traditional event with the participation of Alexander Novak, which
will be held in a new interactive format." "It is also expected that
the finals of the young specialists competition in solving energy cases, which will be
attended by young people from the CIS countries, will be
held within the framework of the Russian Energy Week," he added.
The Russian Energy Week International Forum is one of the key international platforms for discussing current trends in the development of the modern fuel and energy complex. The event is traditionally held at the highest level and attended by heads of the largest companies in the energy industry. In 2022, more than 70 events with the participation of more than 270 speakers took place as part of REW. The Forum was attended by over 3,000 participants and media representatives from Russia and 83 foreign countries and territories.
The Forum is organized by the Roscongress Foundation and the Ministry of Energy of the Russian Federation with support from the Government of Moscow.
