Association of European Businesses to provide support to St. Petersburg International Gas Forum
The Association of European Businesses (AEB) for the first time will take part in the 7th St. Petersburg International Gas Forum, which will be held as part of the 'Russian Energy Week' Energy Efficiency and Energy Development International Forum.
AEB Director General Frank Schauff will speak at the Forum’s panel discussion ‘Russian Gas on the Global Market amidst Growing Competition’. Schauff will share international experience and speak about specific aspects of how the gas market is developing in Europe.
AEB leaders and representatives of the SPIGF Directorate also plan to hold a business meeting during the Forum to identify prospects for further cooperation.
In addition, the AEB will provide the Forum with information support.
The central event of the first day of the Russian Energy Week was the ‘Energy Partnership for Sustainable Growth’ plenary session attended by President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin. Along with the Russian leader, the speakers included Mohammad Sanusi Barkindo, Secretary General, Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC); Darren Woods, Chairman, Chief Executive Officer, Exxon Mobil Corporation; Robert Dudley, Group Chief Executive, BP; Rainer Seele, Chairman of the Executive Board, Chief Executive Officer, OMV AG; Pekka Lundmark, President, Chief Executive Officer, Fortum Corporation.
The roundtable ‘EAEU Country Policies in Promoting Energy Efficiency and Sustainable Development of the Energy Sector: Challenges and Shared Initiatives’ will be held as part of REW 2018.
Russian Energy Week Youth Day ended on a positive note with the concluding ‘Energy of Youth Initiatives 2018’ session, which presented key youth initiatives aimed at promoting energy-saving lifestyles and energy-efficient technologies, developing education in the engineering field, and energizing the youth community in the energy sector.
