Roscongress Foundation Signs Cooperation Agreement with Iranian Institute for International Energy Studies

The Roscongress Foundation signed a cooperation agreement with the Iranian Institute for International Energy Studies as part of the Russian Energy Week International Forum, establishing a special partnership aimed at carrying out joint projects and achieving mutually beneficial goals. The document was signed by Chairman of the Board and CEO of the Roscongress Foundation Alexander Stuglev and Head of the Institute for International Energy Studies Mohammad-Sadek Jokar.

“The Roscongress Foundation sees the development of international relations and scientific and technical co-operation as an important raison d’être. The Institute for International Energy Studies is a reputable institution recognized worldwide for its work. We are pleased to welcome the Institute’s experts to all Roscongress Foundation events and look forward to working together on a number of initiatives,” Stuglev said.

Joint activities of the Roscongress Foundation and the Institute for International Energy Studies will include mutual consulting, information and expert support, and information exchanges aimed at expanding partnerships between representatives of the business communities in Russia and Iran. The two sides will join efforts in the development of international cooperation, foreign economic activities, and collaboration in innovation and will exchange experience in geological research, healthcare, information and communication technologies (ICT), economy, energy, and ecology among others.

One focus of co-operation will consist of engaging Russian associations and development institutions in the Islamic Republic of Iran. The parties will also seek to maintain a dialogue on cooperation in investment and finance and energy exports and imports. Furthermore, there are intentions to intensify public promotion of topics related to the events to be organized and strengthen communication between representatives of the organizations.

“Given the importance of expanding and strengthening trade between Russia and Iran, agreements of this sort can strengthen co-operation in areas like the energy sector, and Russian Energy Week was a very good place to sign this document. We hope both sides will contribute to effective steps being taken under this memorandum,” Jokar said.

As part of the agreement, the Roscongress Foundation and the Iranian Institute for International Energy Studies will organize conferences, seminars, and symposiums of mutual interest, among other things.

The Russian Energy Week International Forum is a key global platform for discussing current trends in the development of the modern fuel and energy sector. This event is traditionally held at the highest level, featuring the participation of leaders from the largest companies in the energy industry. In 2022, more than 70 events, with the involvement of over 270 speakers, were held as part of REW. The Forum attracted over 3,000 participants and media representatives from Russia, as well as 83 foreign countries and territories. The Forum is organized by the Roscongress Foundation and the Ministry of Energy of the Russian Federation, with the support of the Moscow City Government.
