Alexander Novak Met with the Russian Energy Week Organizing Committee

The Organizing Committee in charge of preparing for and holding the Russian Energy Week International Forum met in Moscow. The Energy Minister of the Russian Federation Alexander Novak chaired the meeting. Advisor to the President of the Russian Federation, Executive Secretary of the Organizing Committee Anton Kobyakov, as well as representatives of the Organizing Committee members attended the meeting. The Russian Energy Week International Forum will take place on 2–5 October in Moscow. It’s organized by the Ministry of Energy of the Russian Federation and the Roscongress Foundation with the support of the Moscow Government.

“Russian Energy Week is one of the most significant global events in the energy sector. The decisions made at the Forum are of strategic importance for the development of the global energy market. REW is also a platform for international dialogue among leading industry experts and participants,” said Anton Kobyakov, Advisor to the President of the Russian Federation.

The regular meeting of the Organizing Committee discussed general organizational issues of the Forum preparation, the readiness of the venue and the city infrastructure to host guest and participants of the event, the invitation campaign and the content of the business programme.

“Russian Energy Week contributes to building a positive global image of the Russian fuel and energy complex, among our country’s partners. We need to use this platform to summarize and outline the strategy for 2020–2025. As of today, the Organizing Committee has developed and published the business programme of the Forum, went to considerable length to prepare a new design of the REW venue and continued information support,” said Alexander Novak.

The accreditation of companies’ representatives and REW 2019 partners is underway. The Forum is to host 30 business events, including an extended meeting of the task group for the energy sector of the State Council of the Russian Federation, the OPEC World Oil Outlook 2019 presentation and All-Russian conference on electric power industry preparation for the autumn–winter 2019/2020.

The REW 2019 business sessions will cover the digital transformation of the industry, the development and future of coal mining market, nuclear energy, new pricing trends in international oil markets, prospects for collaboration between Energy and defence companies to achieve import substitution and technological development, the environmental transformation of the energy market and other industry relevant topics.

The Forum will announce the results of the 5th All-Russian MediaTEK Competition among media, public relations departments of fuel and energy companies and regional administrations.

The final day of the Forum will host the #TogetherBrighter Youth Day where young representatives of the fuel and energy complex meet with business leaders. Young specialists, students of Russian and foreign power engineering universities will be able to personally interact with industry professionals, company managers and representatives of the Ministry of Energy, as well as present initiatives and results of their work. More than 3,000 students will take part in the Youth Day, including those from the SCO and BRICS countries.
