On 15 October 2021, the Youth Day of the Russian Energy Week International Forum will be held in Moscow. The Youth Day events will be attended by heads of the Russian Ministry of Energy, industry companies, universities, and 1,000 young professionals, students, and schoolchildren.
The Youth Day of the Russian Energy Week International
Forum is the main youth event in the field of energy development, where the
best young representatives of the fuel and energy sector gather for a dialogue
with industry leaders and experts and shape the youth agenda of the fuel and
energy sector for the following year.
The organizers of Russian Energy Week and the REW
Youth Day are the Ministry of Energy of the Russian Federation, the Roscongress
Foundation, the Russian Znanie Society and the Moscow City Government, and the
Reliable Change Foundation.
The final day of REW will bring together 1,000
participants from all regions of Russia. The day's programme includes events
united by the idea of popularizing the fuel and energy sector and engineering
education. Particular attention will be paid to fuel and energy projects for
young people, the youth and social policy of industry companies, and the work
of youth associations and councils.
At the round table "The Fuel and Energy Sector
for Youth", the largest employers of the fuel and energy sector will
present plans for implementing youth policy and youth projects in 2022 and,
together with representatives of the Russian Ministry of Energy, Russian
Ministry of Science and Higher Education, Russian Ministry of Education,
Rosmolodezh, and Russia – Land of Opportunities, will develop support,
coordination and cooperation formats, taking into account the Russian Youth
Action Plan, aimed at promoting the fuel and energy sector, energy-saving and
engineering and technical education. Rectors of 13 higher education
institutions that train specialists in fuel and energy sectors will also hold
their own meeting.
As part of the Youth Day, the Russian Znanie Society
will host a meeting of young people with Alexander Novak, Deputy Prime Minister
of the Russian Federation, and prominent leaders from the world of politics,
state organizations and business. In the format of "Dialogue on Equal
Terms", the guests will discuss current trends and challenges in the
global energy sector with the participants, as well as the efficiency of young
professionals, digital transformation of the industry and other topics.
The Youth Day will be a meeting place for youth
industry associations: the #YoungEngineers of the fuel and energy sector
community, the BRICS Youth Energy Agency, and the Youth Council of the Electric
Power Industry under the Ministry of Energy of Russia. Roundtables and
foresight sessions will be held throughout the day, including a panel session
entitled 'Sharing Best Practices in the Work of Intercorporate Youth
Communities of Young Professionals'. There will also be an open lecture hall.
The following universities are organizing their own
events: St. Petersburg State Electrotechnical University LETI, Irkutsk National
Research Technical University, St. Petersburg State University of Economics,
Kuzbass State Technical University named after T.F. Gorbachev, Lipetsk State
Technical University, and the Moscow State University of Civil Engineering.
Among the activities are the key interactive sessions
#ENERGYLAB, where teams of students and young professionals will prepare
technological and social projects to be presented to experts as part of the
Forum.
Promotion of the fuel and energy sector will be the
focus of the Special MediaTEK League of the CASE-IN International Engineering
Championship, which is co-hosted by the Reliable Change Foundation and National
Research Tomsk Polytechnic University. The traditional REW Cup of the Young
Professionals League of the CASE-IN International Engineering Championship will
bring together youth teams from 16 industry companies.
Special events for young REW participants have been
prepared by Rosmolodezh, the State Corporation "Fund to Promote Reform in
the Housing and Utilities Sector", MAKO Association, ROSATOM, SO UES,
RusHydro, RUSNANO, Content Foundation, Green Brush Vocational Guidance Project
and others.
The REW Youth Day programme will also have the final
stages and awards for the winners of national and corporate events, including the Russian
competition for graduate qualification papers in electric power and electrical
engineering, with the participation of Rosseti management and the presentation
of the Youth Global Energy Outlook.
The Youth Day will conclude with the final session,
"Energy of Youth Initiatives 2022", where the best youth projects
will be presented, and the winners and runners-up of youth competitions and
projects implemented in 2021 will receive awards. The session will result in an
agenda of youth events and initiatives for 2022.
Also, during the final session, the participants of
the Youth Day will learn about succession in the fuel and energy sector: the
Association "ERA of Russia" will present the results of the project
"Labour Dynasties – 100 Years in the Electric Power Industry", timed
to the 100th anniversary of the GOELRO Plan.
