Andrey
Badalov, Vice President of Transneft, speaking at the panel discussion
‘Countering New Threats to the Fuel and Energy Sector: Legislation and
Practice’, shared his vision of potential risks and options for overcoming them.
Import
substitution and ensuring technological independence is an unconditional
priority for the development of the energy sector. “Transneft is an active
participant of the Industrial Competence Centre established at the state level,
which considers the company’s product – the ‘Evolution. SCADA’ platform is
among the most significant digital projects. The platform has already been
included in the Russian Software Register. In addition, the company has
implemented its own Unified Laboratory Information System (ULIS), which has no
competitors in the market and automates the activities of oil and petroleum
product quality control laboratories. As part of the import substitution
programme, associations of major consumers of IT products are also working, and
issues related to the creation of ‘trusted software banks’ are being resolved.”
“The
companies themselves, including Transneft, optimize the stack of information
technologies used and create their own IT solutions to solve some tasks. At the
same time, it is very important to immediately implement processes of secure
development, code verification of own and purchased products,” said Andrey
Badalov.
Transneft’s
display is open at the REW 2023 venue. Visitors, in particular, can familiarize
themselves with the results of the company’s digital transformation, IT
solutions to ensure high functionality of production processes and
technological independence. The largest manufacturers present high-tech
products and equipment in the Transneft system: TOMZEL, Transneft-Verkhnyaya
Volga, Ural Dynamic Machines, and Transneft-Syntez.
