Seoul (South Korea), October 25. – The investment attractiveness of the Russian fuel and energy industry, which was the subject of much discussion during Russian Energy Week 2017, was further developed in practical terms with a presentation of the investment potential of Russia’s regions delivered by the relevant regional leaders to South Korean business 

Russian Deputy Minister of Energy Kirill Molodtsov said at the plenary discussion ‘Increasing the Efficiency of Oil Extraction: Meeting the Challenges’ during Russian Energy Week that there has been an increase in the production of hard-to-recover oil reserves in recent years.

President of Schneider Electric for Russia and CIS Johan Vanderplaetse noted that Russian Energy Week was a key event for the energy industry. “Russian Energy Week has become a major platform for discussing the objectives of the industry and innovative technologies and working out solutions for the development of the energy sector, not only on a Russian scale, but on a global scale as well”, he said.

Secretary General of the Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) Mohammed Barkindo said at the ‘Energy for Global Growth’ plenary session during Russian Energy Week that the oil market is capable of restoring its balance.

International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA) Director General Adnan Amin said at the 6th Global Energy Summit during REW 2017 that humanity is approaching the limit of the planet's capabilities.

Moscow, 19 October. – The theme of developing energy efficiency and energy conservation, which was actively discussed during REW 2017, was one of the key issues on the agenda of a Russian Government meeting chaired by Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev.

During the panel discussion ‘Finding a New Balance on the Oil Market’ as part of REW 2017, Zarubezhneft General Director Sergey Kudryashov noted that the agreement with OPEC+ countries on reducing oil production has stabilized the situation in the industry.

Siemens Russia President Dietrich Möller said in a speech during the plenary session ‘The Future of the Electricity Industry: How Power Systems and Consumers Are Set to Change’ as part of Russian Energy Week that, according to his company, roughly 50% of power plants in Russia are in need of modernization and “Siemens is ready to make a proposal”.
