A working group of the Organizing Committee in charge of the business programme and providing support for the Russian Energy Week International Forum held a meeting in Moscow on 11 May chaired by Deputy Minister of Energy Anton Inyutsyn.
Representatives of ministries, departments, and major energy companies as well as leading industry experts discussed preparations for the business events of the forum, which will be held on 2–5 October at the Central Exhibition Hall ‘Manege’. They devoted special attention to the structure and thematic content of the programme.
The main programme of REW 2019 will be held in various formats, such as a plenary session, panel sessions, roundtables, lectures, and meetings of industry experts, among others. The forum participants will discuss the implementation of programmes to develop the fuel and energy sector, forecasts for the development of the energy industry up to 2040 as well as interaction with the media and young people.
“The REW 2019 business programme will be eventful. Such issues as energy security, the digital transformation of the fuel and energy industry, and the training of professionals, along with the main goals, currently hold a very important place in the discussion of the whole range of issues concerning the development of the energy industry. The steady trend of more international projects involving Russian energy companies, mutual investments, international transit, and the harmonization of trade rules is also an important component of the agenda”, Inyutsyn said during the meeting. “These issues are particularly important for the natural gas and refined products market. A national meeting on the development of the oil and gas industry will be held at the Forum for the first time. Major energy companies and respected international organizations such as OPEC, the Gas Exporting Countries Forum, the International Energy Agency, the Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific, and Association of Southeast Asian Nations are invited to take part in the business programme”.
REW 2019 events will include the traditional national meeting on preparations for the 2019–2020 autumn and winter heating season, a series of events under the auspices of the UN, and a meeting of the Gas Exporting Countries Forum. In addition, the results and winners of the MediaTEK 2019 national competition of mass media, press services of fuel and energy companies, and regional administrations will be announced and awarded.
The last day of the Forum will feature the #BrighterTogether Youth Day, the main youth event on energy efficiency and energy development, where young energy specialists will have an opportunity to interact with industry leaders and learn about corporate and government experience in implementing projects related to energy and energy efficiency.
