November 21, 2018

The Russian Energy Week International Forum, the largest annual industry event in Russia devoted to the analysis of trends in the global fuel and energy industry, will take place in St. Petersburg on 1–5 October 2019. The event, which is organized by the Russian Ministry of Energy with the support of the Roscongress Foundation, will be held at the ExpoForum Convention and Exhibition Centre and will be merged with the St. Petersburg International Gas Forum.

“REW has already established itself as a leading platform for discussing the agenda not only of the Russian, but also the global energy policy. During the forum discussions, representatives of government and business as well as experts from around the world have the opportunity to find common ground and identify ways to develop further cooperation both at the company level and at the state level”, Russian Minister of Energy Alexander Novak said.

“Combining two such important energy events will create a synergistic effect and help us take the global industry event to a new level. As the world’s largest energy donor, Russia is capable of becoming and should become a leading platform for discussing sustainable development, energy efficiency, and energy security. This is a goal which we have set for ourselves and which we will pursue together with the St. Petersburg International Gas Forum”, Adviser to the Russian President Anton Kobyakov said.

As per tradition, REW 2019 will be attended by heads of state and government, representatives of major international energy companies and industry leaders, leading world experts, and members of the media. The event’s business programme includes plenary sessions, meetings of governmental and intergovernmental commissions, the national meeting on preparations for the autumn and winter, roundtables as well as an impressive exhibition.

REW 2019 will feature an award ceremony for the winners of the MediaTEK national competition among the mass media, press services of energy companies, and regional administrations as well as the traditional Youth Day, where young representatives of the fuel and energy industry will have a chance to pose questions to industry professionals and representatives of the Ministry of Energy.

The Russian Energy Week International Forum was held in Moscow on 3–6 October 2018. The goal of the event is to discuss the current global energy agenda, identify the main focuses for the development of the fuel and energy sector, and search for optimal solutions in response to existing challenges. REW 2018 was attended by more than 9,500 people from over 66 countries.
