
First
Deputy Prime Minister Denis Manturov and Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak convened
the Coordination Council on Import Substitution of Oil and Gas Equipment under
the Government Commission on Import Substitution, which includes the heads of
key industry companies, government authorities, and the heads of the constituent
entities of the Russian Federation. The event was held as part of the Russian
Energy Week International Forum.
The
Council meeting was attended by Minister of Industry and Trade Anton Alikhanov,
Minister of Energy Sergey Tsivilev, Head of the Federal Agency for Technical
Regulation and Metrology Anton Shalaev, Governor of the Khanty-Mansiysk
Autonomous Territory Ruslan Kukharuk, Director General of the Institute of Oil
and Gas Technology Initiatives (INTI) Nikolay Kuznetsov, and oil and gas company
representatives.
Participants
discussed the current situation with import substitution for important
petroleum equipment and the long-term outlook.
Manturov opened
the Coordination Council by speaking about the year’s achievements in import
substitution in the fuel and energy sector.
“In
general, the trend in the oil and gas machine building industry is promising.
Production has grown by 27% since the beginning of the year. Roughly 60
industry R&D projects in the oil and gas machine building industry are
currently being implemented with the government’s participation. Most of the models
under development are expected to go into mass production next year,” he said.
Novak spoke
of the President of Russia’s order to ensure technological sovereignty and
develop and implement new national projects to this end.
“Work finalizing
a ‘New Nuclear Power Technologies’ national project is wrapping up. It consists
of five federal projects for the development of equipment for the oil and gas industry
and the production of liquefied natural gas,” he said.
He also
mentioned the Government Coordination Centre launch, on the instructions of
Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin, of the development of equipment for the oil
and gas industry that would allow for real-time monitoring of work in progress.
The Coordination
Council meeting wrapped up with additional agreements for the development of
technological potential, equipment for onshore and offshore drilling and
production, and energy storage systems signed between the Russian Government
and various companies.
