The ‘Get
Charged Up’ Festival of Energy and Sports will be held on 27 January at the
skating rink at the All-Russian Exhibition Centre as part of Energy Day during
the international RUSSIA EXPO.
Prominent
Russian athletes will be the main stars of the festival. Olympic figure skating
champion and Sochi 2014 standout Yulia Lipnitskaya will perform in an ice show
choreographed by two-time Olympic champion Evgeni Plushenko. European champion
Alena Kostornaia and other renowned skaters will also take to the ice at the
skating rink.
Olympic
hockey champion Sergei Svetlov and world champion Maxim Afinogenov will hold a
master class on hockey skills. The hockey legends will also participate in the
corporate programme ‘Getting Charged up with Hockey’ for teams representing
companies in the fuel and energy sector.
The
festival programme was put together by RC-Sport, the sports platform of the
Roscongress Foundation.
“For all
people, sport has become a universal energy that they can generate themselves.
And our renowned athletes are an example of how to use this energy. At the ‘Get
Charged Up’ festival, they will clearly show how to do this. That’s why it’s
impossible to imagine Energy Day without a sports programme that would fill all
the guests [at the All-Russian Exhibition Centre] with emotions. Moreover,
major fuel and energy companies regularly participate in the development of
Russian sports,” said Georgy Bryusov, director of the Centre for Athletic
Training of Russian National Teams and a member of the Roscongress Foundation
Supervisory Board.
The
activity programme will kick off with fun family event ‘Dad, Mom, and Me: An Energetic
Family’ and a competitive programme with Snezhik, the mascot of the 2024
Spartakiad of the Strongest, as well as mascots from Moscow KHL clubs.
In
addition, the acrobatic ice show entertainers will perform circus tricks on skates and teach people
some of the simplest ones.
There will
be three activity locations for guests and visitors throughout the festival: a
skating rink, a stage, and a photo zone, where photo sessions will take place
with Yulia Lipnitskaya, Sergei Svetlov and Maxim Afinogenov.
Energy Day is
being organized by the Russian government and the Ministry of Energy, while the
operator is the Roscongress Foundation.
