The Roscongress Foundation Squash Cup has made its debut as part of Russian Energy Week’s sports program. First Vice President of NK Rosneft Pavel Fyodorov, Energy Ministry officials and representatives of leading energy companies hit the courts of the recently opened Moskva squash club. Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer LLP Managing Partner Mikhail Loktionov won the men’s tournament, while AO Severnaya Stolitsa Business Development Director Elena Anashkina placed first among women. Last summer, Roscongress Foundation Cup tournaments also debuted in the sports programs of the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum and the International Financial Congress.
This year marks the 295th anniversary of coal mining in Russia and 70 years since Miners’ Day was established. Ahead of the big date, President Vladimir Putin paid his compliments to mining industry workers and veterans.
