Russian Energy Week hosted an interdepartmental meeting on the promotion of power management and engineering education among young people.
The meeting participants were Deputy Head of the Presidential Office for Social Projects Alexei Zharich, Deputy Minister of Energy of the Russian Federation Anton Inyutsyn, Federal Agency for Youth Affairs Deputy Director Andrey Platonov, Director of the Department of State Youth Policy and Social Projects in Higher Education of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation Olga Chernysheva, representatives of the Ministry of Education of the Russian Federation, rectors of the country’s leading energy and engineering universities, representatives of energy companies, universities, youth committees and regional departments of education.
Opening the meeting, the Deputy Minister of Energy of the Russian Federation Anton Inyutsyn expressed gratitude for the attention to the issues of popularizing power management and endangering education among young people.
“The Youth Day of the Forum, traditionally, remains an assembly point for young enthusiasts from universities and enterprises, winners of federal industry youth projects. It is a discussion platform. The Ministry of Energy of the Russian Federation is to support industry ideas and initiatives,” said Anton Inyutsyn.
Pursuing the subject, Deputy Head of the Presidential Office for Public Projects Alexei Zharich emphasized that President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin gives special attention to the Russian Energy Week International Forum.
“Over the past decades, the fuel and energy complex has become one of the most appealing employers. The state sets up all the necessary mechanisms to search for talented youth that is to drive the Industry’s development. Moreover, we should draw on the experience and best practices of fuel and energy complex companies. The REW platform brings those two together,” said Alexei Zharic.
Olga Chernysheva, Director of the Department of State Youth Policy and Social Projects in Higher Education of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation, stated that the Ministry hosts a wide range of events to promote the fuel and energy complex engineering education among youth. A new mechanism of targeted learning has been tested. It is a higher education system trend. In the first reading, the State Duma considered a draft law on amendments to the practical training of students and improving the licensing process for places of an internship. The Science National Project stipulates for student grants towards their development and growth in engineering, graduate students’ grants for research projects, and grants for scientific organizations working with young specialists.
“The engineering education holds a bright future. Projects like Professional Training 2.0 by ‘Russia – Land of Opportunity,’ CASE-IN, the National Engineering Competition, and many others promote engineering degrees,” in conclusion, said Olga Chernysheva.
The meeting summarized the outcomes of the national youth events 2019 aimed at promoting the fuel and energy complex, power management and engineering education, shaped the 2020 agenda for the fuel and energy sector, and hosted awards ceremonies for enterprises and universities actively promoting youth fuel and energy complex ideas of energy conservation and engineering education.
The Russian Energy Week is organized by the Russian Ministry of Energy and the Roscongress Foundation with the support of Moscow City Government.
