Youth Council of the Oil and Gas Industry under the Ministry of Energy of the Russian Federation meets at SPIGS platform
St. Petersburg, 5 October. – A meeting of the Youth Council of the Oil and Gas Industry under the Ministry of Energy of the Russian Federation took place during the 7th St. Petersburg International Gas Forum, which is being held as part of Russian Energy Week.
The meeting participants heard opening remarks from Director of the Department of Civil Service and Mobilization Training at the Russian Ministry of Energy Vladimir Smirnov and President of the Union of Oil and Gas Producers of Russia and Chairman of the Council of Veterans under the Russian Ministry of Energy Gennady Shmal.
Vladimir Smirnov noted that, with the establishment of the Council of Veterans and the Youth Council, the ministry has organized work on socially-oriented activities that help to preserve the historical continuity of the oil and gas industry. The Youth Council has already justified the goals for which it was established and is an effective tool for young people whose help makes it possible to build cooperation among students of higher educational institutions, young specialists and scientists, enterprises, organizations, public youth associations and the government authorities, formulate proposals and carry out activities to support youth working in the industry, and help to develop the personnel potential of the country’s oil and gas industry.
The meeting summarized the results of the activities carried out by the Youth Council in 2017: the first All-Russian intellectual game among oil and gas industry youth ‘Oil Owl’ was held, the first stage of the All-Russian fuel and energy industry photo contest ‘Energy of Modern Russia’ was completed, a base of promising research and development research is being established, and fuel and energy industry youth conducted volunteer clean-ups. A number of regulatory documents of the Youth Council were discussed and approved. Draft regulations and concepts for the implementation of activities based on the Youth Council’s plan for 2018 were prepared.
The Youth Council members also submitted proposals during the meeting on participation in federal educational forums of the Federal Agency for Youth Affairs and conducting vocational guidance activities for schoolchildren and students of junior courses at Russian educational organizations.
The final meeting of the Youth Council will be held in December 2017 at the Ministry of Energy of the Russian Federation to assess the Youth Council’s work for the year and approve the work plan for 2018.
The 6th Russian Energy Week International Forum (REW), one of the key international events for discussing current trends in the fuel and energy industry, will take place in Moscow on 11–13 October 2023. Manege Central Exhibition Hall will once again host the event. The Forum is organized by the Roscongress Foundation and the Russian Ministry of Energy with the support of the Moscow Government.
The Arctic region is becoming a key source of Russian energy.
