President of Alstom in Russia Philippe Pegorier has confirmed he will take part in the business events of Russian Energy Week (REW). Representatives of the government, major industry companies, and experts will discuss the role of railway transport in supporting the effectiveness of the fuel and energy industry at the Forum.
Alstom is a French engineering concern that implements projects in more than 60 countries. It opened a representative office in Moscow in 1975. Alstom owns a 33% stake in Transmashholding, Russia's largest transportation engineering holding company, which is also Alstom’s main strategic partner.
Philippe Pegorier will participate in the panel discussion ‘Russian-European Cooperation: The Path to Growth in Global Energy Efficiency’. ‘At Novocherkassk Electric Locomotive Plant in Russia, Transmashholding along with Alstom manufactures the EP20 two-system passenger electric locomotive, which won the prize of Russian Railways for Best Locomotive of 2016. Alstom is also the manufacturer of the Allegro-series trains that Russian Railways is successfully operating on the St. Petersburg-Helsinki route’, Pegorier said.
