Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Alexander Novak chaired the first meeting of the Organizing Committee for preparation and holding of the Russian Energy Week International Forum. The meeting brought together representatives of the federal government, energy companies, and professional communities.

Opening the meeting, Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Alexander Novak noted that the Forum would make it possible to discuss key issues of global fuel and energy development in what has become a traditional format. “In recent years the Russian Energy Week has become one of the most significant venues for industry-related discussions. Today, we see a number of uncertainties and challenges in the world energy markets, so it is especially important to exchange opinions and forecasts about the future of the energy sector together with the leading representatives of the industry, "to compare notes" on key issues, and find compromise solutions,” Deputy Prime Minister said.

Russian Energy Week 2022 programme includes sessions on the development of the electricity, oil and gas, chemical, gas, and coal industries, as well as events dedicated to import substitution, digital transformation, energy transition, and climate issues.

During the meeting, Advisor to the President of the Russian Federation, Executive Secretary of the Organizing Committee of the Russian Energy Week 2022 Anton Kobyakov noted: “Russian Energy Week annually confirms its status as an influential and popular communication platform for discussing key issues of energy development. I am confident that this year as well the Forum will become a familiar attraction for all leading industry specialists, heads of energy companies, foreign officials, and leading representatives of the business, expert, and media communities”.

“As usual the Forum will be held in compliance with all measures of epidemiological safety. The Forum venue will take into account all existing requirements of Rospotrebnadzor, added he.
