The
Russian Energy Week International Forum Organizing Committee met in Moscow
under the leadership of Russian Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak. Meeting
discussion touched on the readiness of venues, the business programme, and
infrastructure and security at the Forum. This year’s Russian Energy Week will
be held for the first time at two different venues, with the Manege Central
Exhibition Hall hosting business programme events and an exhibition of energy
sector equipment and technologies planned for Gostiny Dvor. The main events are
scheduled for 26 and 27 September, with the third day of the forum dedicated,
as in previous years, to the youth agenda.
“The theme
of the REW 2024 business programme is ‘Energy Cooperation in a Multipolar World’,
and it will showcase the achievements, plans, and outlook for continued development
in the energy sector as part of international co-operation within BRICS. The Russian
energy sector has developed in leaps and bounds, achieving high production targets
and continuing to develop infrastructure and scientific potential. Of course, the
industry requires more skilled workers, and we aim to introduce more modern methods
in the form of robotization and artificial intelligence. The Russian Energy
Week International Forum will showcase advanced energy sector technologies,” Novak
said.
Adviser to
the President of the Russian Federation and Executive Secretary of the REW Organizing
Committee Anton Kobyakov spoke about this year’s new features: “The
event will gather advanced energy sector technologies to showcase Russia’s
energy potential as a reliable area for global industry development. For international
engineering staff not generally accustomed to participating in the main
business programme, we have developed a special programme on the event’s second
platform for global professionals to meet and share their experience.”
“REW’s
main strategic discussions will be taking place at high-level events, panel
sessions, and roundtables with the participation of the Government of the
Russian Federation, the Ministry of Energy, and energy companies at the Manege.
Gostiny Dvor will feature an exhibition of modern energy sector technologies
and equipment from Russia and friendly countries and a programme designed to be
more applied in nature and require an expert level of participation. In total,
more than 60 events will be held as part of REW, including the 6th
BRICS Energy Summit,” Minister of Energy of the Russian Federation Sergey
Tsivilev said. The Head of the Ministry of Energy approved of a Znanie
Society proposal to organize an Energy Industry Day in schools across Russia on
the eve of Russian Energy Week to add additional impetus to the development of
human capital for the industry.
The Youth Day programme will consist
of interactive sessions, case championships, and educational events. 1,500
students and young professionals are expected to participate. As in previous
years, Youth Day will culminate in a plenary session to be held in an
interactive new format for youth with the participation of Deputy Prime
Minister of the Russian Federation Alexander Novak.
REW 2024 will also continue to host the
Global Energy Prize and will crown the winners of the Energy of Words media contest.
The
Russian Energy Week International Forum is one of the world’s most important
platforms for discussing trends in energy sector development and has always
enjoyed the participation of the heads of the world’s largest energy companies.
In 2023, REW hosted more than 70 events with upwards of 225 speakers. Over
5,000 delegates from 84 foreign countries attended the Forum.
The event
is organized by the Roscongress Foundation and the Ministry of Energy of the
Russian Federation with the support of the Moscow City Government.
