Energy Day will be held as part of the international RUSSIA EXPO on 27
January 2024, during which experts will talk about the past, present, and
future of Russian energy and discuss the development of the fuel and energy
industry.
The business programme of Energy Day will open with the plenary session
‘Russian Fuel and Energy Industry: New Opportunities for Development’, which
will be attended by Russian Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak and include
discussions about the priorities for the development of the Russian fuel and
energy industry, the achievements that have been made in recent years, and
development opportunities in each sector of the fuel and energy industry.
“The achievements of the Russian fuel and energy industry have become
increasingly ambitious in recent years. Our country is one of the leaders in
nuclear energy, demonstrates impressive performance indicators in oil, gas, and
coal production, and is implementing a large-scale social gasification
programme. As part of Energy Day, we have an opportunity to demonstrate the
results of the work of our energy companies to a wide audience. The
international RUSSIA EXPO is visited by millions of citizens and it’s a place where we manage to combine business,
educational, sports, and cultural programmes so everyone can visit it to learn
more about the energy industry, which is one of the most important for the
Russian economy,” Novak said.
The session participants will also include Gazprom Management Board
Deputy Chairman and Department Head Oleg Aksyutin, Gazprom Mezhregiongaz
General Director Sergey Gustov, Gazprom Neft General Director Alexander Dyukov,
SUEK General Director Vladimir Rashevsky, Rosatom State Corporation Director
General Alexey Likhachev, Inter RAO Chairman of the Management Board Boris
Kovalchuk, Rosseti General Director and Chairman of the Management Board Andrey
Ryumin, Unigreen Energy General Director Igor Shakhray, SIBUR Chairman of the
Management Board and General Director Mikhail Karisalov, Rosneft First Vice
President Vladimir Chernov, and NOVATEK Deputy Chairman of the Management Board
and Director for Prospective Projects Sergey Solovyov. They will talk about the
fuel and energy industry as the cornerstone for growth in the Russian economy
and how it will improve the quality of people’s lives.
The expert panel ‘Electric Power Industry: A Driver of Economic Growth’
will focus on the priorities for the development of the electric power
industry, the achievements that have been made in recent years, the future
prospects of the industry, and how the Russian electric power industry is being
transformed in response to modern trends in low-carbon and scientific and
technological development. Russian Deputy Minister of Energy Pavel Snikkars
will moderate the discussion. The speakers will include CEOs and
representatives of major electric power companies and associations: SO UES, the
Market Council Association, Rosseti, the Association of Guaranteed Suppliers
and Energy Sales Companies, RusHydro, Inter RAO, and others.
The expert
panel ‘New Strategies for the Oil and Gas Industry’ will examine how the global
agenda influences the Russian oil and gas sector, what internal challenges the
industry faces and how to mitigate them, and what prospects and achievements
await the industry in the future. The meeting will be moderated by Russian First
Deputy Minister of Energy Pavel Sorokin and will include representatives of
Irkutsk Oil Company, the RosGeo Centre for the Development of Import
Substitution, Tatneft, Sovcomflot, SIBUR, and other industry companies.
The plenary
session and expert panels will be held on 27 January 2024 in Pavilion No. 75 at
the All-Russian Exhibition Centre and will be broadcast online. The discussions
will include a Q&A session with the audience.
Energy Day
is being organized by the Russian government and the Ministry of Energy, while
the operator is the Roscongress Foundation.
