On 28 September
2024, Moscow will host the Youth Day of the Russian Energy Week
International Forum, a key youth event
in the energy industry. The Youth Day will be attended by more than 1,500 young
specialists, students and schoolchildren, as well as heads of government
agencies, industry companies and universities.
For the first
time, the Youth Day will be held at two venues – Manege Central Exhibition Hall
and Gostiny Dvor. The Youth Day programme will include events to promote the
fuel and energy complex and engineering and technical education.
The central event
will be a plenary session in the format of the game ‘Who Wants to Work in
Energy Industry’ organized by the Russian Society Znanie. The meeting will be
attended by well-known people from the world of politics, representatives of
government organizations and business, leaders of the industry youth community –
future and current young engineers, inventors and innovators.
“For several
years, the Znanie Society has been a key partner of the Youth Day of the
Russian Energy Week. This year we are organizing a plenary session, which will
be attended not only by industry leaders, representatives of government
organizations and businesses, but also by young engineers, inventors, and
bright representatives of the industry youth community. We are confident in the
great potential of our young people, and we want the energy sector to become a
magnet for attracting young talents,” emphasized Maxim Dreval,
General Director of the Znanie Society.
The Youth Day
programme includes the finals and awarding of winners of federal and corporate
projects: a presentation of the Youth Global Energy Forecast, the finals of the
All-Russian Competition of Graduate Qualification Works in Electric Power and
Electrical Engineering with the participation of the management of Rosseti, the
All-Russian Competition of Graduate Qualification Works and Diploma Research
‘GENERATION OF THE FUTURE’, and the IT Championship of the oil industry. Alexander
Novak, Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation, will present the
awards to the strongest candidates.
“The key value of the Youth Day is a free
discussion between the industry leadership, experts and the young generation of
professionals. We will discuss working tools for attracting promising personnel
to the fuel and energy sector, including federal initiatives included in the
youth agenda of the Ministry of Energy: the CASE-IN International Engineering
Championship, the Youth Global Energy Forecast, specialized energy-oriented
shifts at Orlyonok and Smena camps,” commented Anastasia Bondarenko,
State Secretary, Deputy Minister of Energy of the Russian Federation.
Regular events
include interactive sessions, which are key to the REW Youth Day, where teams
of students and young professionals will prepare projects for presentation to
experts and subsequent implementation.
Also
traditionally, the REW Cup of the CASE-IN International Engineering
Championship will be held at the venue, where youth teams from 20 companies
will present case solutions on the topic ‘Artificial Intelligence: Shaping the
Energy of the Future’.
At the annual
roundtable ‘Fuel and Energy Complex for Youth’, the heads of the industry and
the largest companies of the fuel and energy complex will discuss with young
people the topic of career guidance and training of specialists oriented to the
demands of the Russian economy.
The final day of
REW will be a platform for the work of activists – participants in the Youth
Council of the Ministry of Energy and youth councils of Gazprom subsidiaries.
Youth
organizations will hold their own events. The 6th BRICS Youth Energy Summit
will feature a plenary session, while the Engineering Design Competition will
include a presentation of the winners' works and a dialogue on equal terms with
honoured scientists.
The Federal Agency
for Youth Affairs will organize a discussion session ‘Useful Creativity: The
Role of Creative Initiatives in Efficient Staff Performance’, and a round table
‘The Role of IT Development in the Oil Industry’ will be held as part of the
Oil Industry IT Championship.
The Youth Day will
also host the International Scientific and Practical Conference ‘Energy Legal
Dialogue in a Multipolar World – the View of Youth, State, Science, Business’
and the Career Guidance Game ‘Bright Career Start in the Conditions of
Responsible Business Development in the Fuel and Energy Complex: How to Choose
a Dream Company?’.
Schoolchildren are
also welcome at REW: a career guidance programme ‘Choosing a Profession: What
Competences to Develop to Work in the Fuel and Energy Complex?’ has been
developed for them.
Russian Energy
Week is supported by the Government of the Russian Federation, the Ministry of
Energy of the Russian Federation and the Moscow City Government. It is
organized by the Roscongress Foundation. The Youth Day is organized by the
Reliable Change Foundation.
