The guests of Energy Day were charged up by the energy
of creativity and sports: the ‘Tales of Evgeni Plushenko’ ice show, master
classes from famous hockey players, family sports games, as well as a concert
featuring Russian pop stars at the International RUSSIA EXPO. All the guests of
Energy Day gathered in People’s Friendship Square to listen to rousing music
and hits that bring together different generations.
Leading actress Anna Khilkevich and showman Sasha
Stone announced the songs and ignited the audience during the daytime
programme. Visitors were treated to performances on the main stage at the
All-Russian Exhibition Centre by Denis Maydanov, the Nansi & Sidorov duet,
Nadezhda Babkina and the Russian Song Ensemble, Yulianna Karaulova, Ilya
Kolunov, Anastasia Spiridonova, and Sergey Pavlovsky.
“Today, we are talking about people who fill us with
light and warmth and bestow comfort, without which modern people’s lives would
be unthinkable. About those who stand guard over our well-being in any weather,
hot or cold, on weekends or holidays. People, thanks to whom the country’s
energy industry is functioning and securely developing, as it confidently
responds to all the challenges of the time and provides the opportunity to
solve large-scale problems,” said Sasha Stone, who hosted the daytime concert.
The energetic evening was further charged by Valery
Syutkin, Sasha ST, Olga Seryabkina, the Turetsky Choir, and the groups Fabrika,
Vintage, and Turetsky Soprano. Performers and groups from Russia’s leading
energy companies performed together with the artists. Yana Churikova and
Alexander Oleshko served as presenters in the second part of the concert and
invited Russian Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak to the stage to offer
greetings: “My dear friends! I am thrilled to welcome you to our country’s main
exhibition – the RUSSIA EXPO! This exhibition has become the hallmark of our
country. On this unique platform, you can see the best achievements of our
state and our citizens in industry, transport, agriculture, the social sector,
science, and culture. There are a lot of pavilions here at the All-Russian
Exhibition Centre. Today, we are celebrating Energy Day at the Exhibition of
National Economic Achievements. Thank you for being here with us today! I think
that you had the opportunity to visit our energy pavilions: the Energy of Life
pavilion, the pavilions of our largest companies, which were specially built to
introduce achievements in the energy sector and plans for the future, and the
pavilions of Rosneft, Gazprom, Sibur, and Lukoil, and the wonderful Atom
Pavilion, a unique pavilion. Today, as I was told, more than six million of our
citizens and guests of our country have visited the exhibition since it opened.
And this, of course, is a unique achievement. Thanks to the personal attention
of Russian President Vladimir Putin, today the energy industry has reached the
highest level in its development over the past 20 years. And this work was done
by a large team – the president’s team. Energy is a world leader today, and
Russia is a world leader. Energy is innovative, modern, and has a great future.
The most important thing is that energy is for people. It is in each of our
lives and is primarily aimed at you. I want to say a huge thank you to you. We
are a country of opportunity. Go Russia!”
The January cold did not prevent the Energy Day
visitors from enjoying the concert. Professional chefs kept the guests warm
with the favourite hot drinks of Russian scientists and ‘energy porridge’ in an
onsite kitchen.
Hockey legends – Olympic champion Sergey Svetlov and
world champion Maxim Afinogenov – held master classes on hockey skills at the
All-Russian Exhibition Centre skating rink.
“We have a huge country. We have lots to be proud of.
It’s great that you can learn about all the achievements in one place. And
hockey is one of the significant pages of sports history that everyone should
know,” Svetlov said.
“It’s crucial that at such festivals we can tell the
younger generation about the victories of Soviet and Russian hockey players and
introduce them to one of the most popular sports in our country,” Afinogenov
said.
In addition, distinguished hockey players took part in
the corporate programme ‘Getting Charged with Hockey’ for teams that represent
companies in the fuel and energy industry, and presented awards to the winners.
The company G-Drive had the winning team, which was presented with professional
hockey sticks from the Rosatom-affiliated domestic plant ZaryaD.
Svetlov and Afinogenov held an autograph session,
which was followed by the ‘Tales of Evgeni Plushenko’ ice show on the skating
rink at the All-Russian Exhibition Centre. Star figure skaters were transformed
into fairy-tale characters: Olympic champion Yulia Lipnitskaya became
Cinderella, European champion Alena Kostornaya turned into a black swan, Sofya
Samodelkina became the Sugar Plum Fairy, and young Alexander Plushenko, or
Gnome Gnomych, transformed into a crab.
Gas workers from Moscow organized a creative programme
for the Energy Day guests: a master class on painting by People’s Artist of
Russia Nikas Safronov at the Oil Museum, master classes at the Museum of Moscow
Municipal Economy, as well as a performance by talented children who won the
vocal festival ‘Mosgaz Lights Up the Stars’ on the main stage at the
All-Russian Exhibition Centre as part of a large festive concert.
In addition, throughout the day, the organizers
prepared energetic competitions for all the guests. The Rosseti team won the
fun competition ‘Dad, Mom, and Me: An Energetic Family’.
Throughout the day, guests were entertained by
Snezhik, the mascot from the Spartakiad of the Strongest, and mascots from
Moscow’s KHL clubs, who served as captains of the children’s teams in
entertaining competitions. The most energetic participants received prizes from
Kidzania Children’s Park, tickets to games of the Dynamo and CSKA hockey clubs,
and other awards.
Energy Day
was organized by the Russian government, the Ministry of Energy, and the Russia
Directorate of the Exhibition of Achievements. The event was managed by the
