Brainstorm to develop Russian energy sector: 3,000 REW Youth Day participants to present best ideas

Russian Energy Week will feature Youth Day – the main youth event in matters concerning energy efficiency and the development of the energy sector – on 7 October 2017. It will be the largest information and communications platform in the fuel and energy industry for students, young professionals from companies working in the industry, as well as representatives of youth industry communities, unions, and associations of young professionals.

More than 3,000 young specialists, students, and schoolchildren will take part in Youth Day in addition to roughly 500 senior officials and representatives of fuel and energy companies. Youth Day participants will be involved in a variety of activities: a meeting with Minister of Energy of the Russian Federation Alexander Novak, competitions of the League of Young Professionals of the Case-in International Engineering Championship, interactive sessions to develop a forecast for the technological development of Russia’s energy sector for 2018 and beyond, and the final session of the ‘Energy of Youth Initiatives 2018’, among others. The educational programme will be complemented by measures to promote energy efficiency and develop the energy sector.

Youth Day is being organized by the Ministry of Energy of the Russian Federation, the Moscow Government, and the organizing committee of the Reliable Change Foundation.

The Youth Day programme is available on the website: www.rusenergyweek.com

Discussions of topical issues involving the promotion of energy efficiency and the development of the energy sector will play an important role in the educational programme of the 19th World Festival of Youth and Students, which will take place in Sochi on 14–21 October 2017. The festival will bring together more than 20,000 young leaders from 150 countries. www.russia2017.com The operator of the festival is the Roscongress Foundation.
