The first ‘Russian Energy Week’ Energy Efficiency and Energy Development International Forum was held in Moscow and St. Petersburg on 3–7 October 2017 at the Central Exhibition Hall ‘Manege’ and ExpoForum Convention and Exhibition Centre.

The Berlin Energy Transition Dialogue (BETD) has presented its Green Sofa at REW 2017. BETD's trademark Green Sofa has made a name for itself by touring international events and hosting interviews on the subject of world energy among more than 500 leading politicians.

Moscow, 7 October. – Russian Minister of Energy Alexander Novak held an informal meeting with students and young specialists in the fuel and energy sector as part of Youth Day during Russian Energy Week. The minister answered questions from the discussion participants in the hall. Young people from Russia’s regions also had an opportunity to interact with the minister via a video bridge. The conversation primarily focused on the future of energy, the role of hydrocarbons, successes in import substitution, modern technologies, and personnel potential.

The Russian Energy Week exposition was enhanced by the best works of the ‘The Pride of Russia – Miners’ photo exhibition organized by the Russian Ministry of Energy in conjunction with SUEK to commemorate the 70th anniversary of the coal industry’s professional holiday – Miner’s Day.

6 October, Moscow. – Russian Minister of Energy and Chairman of the Government Commission for Ensuring the Security of Electric Power Supply (Federal Staff) Alexander Novak chaired the All-Russian Conference on Preparations by Electric Power Organizations for the Autumn/Winter Period 2017–2018.

The All-Russia Forum on Promoting an Energy-Saving Lifestyle and Information Transparency in the Fuel and Energy Sector has been held as part of Russian Energy Week.

A Youth Day at the REW will be organised on October 7 as part of the International Russian Energy Week forum. Over 4,000 young experts, university and school students will meet 500 senior managers and representatives from respective industries to discuss the present and the future of the fuel and energy sector.

Experts discussed the future of the fuel and energy complex (FEC) as seen through the lens of the economy digitalization at the Uniting the Efforts of the Infrastructure Sector and the Regions to Achieve Economic Growth plenary session that was held during the Russian Energy Week.

The ‘Russian Energy Week’ Energy Efficiency and Energy Development International Forum platform featured a round table titled ‘Safety in the Fuel and Energy Industry: New Challenges’. The discussion was attended by Acting Director of Administrative and Legislative Work Department at the Ministry of Energy of the Russian Federation Director Oleg Umanets, Chief Advisor of the Security Council Office of the Russian Federation Yuri Khamchichev, RusHydro Deputy General Director for Anti-Terrorism, Economic and Information Security Alexander Klopov, Department Head and Deputy Head of the Department of State Control at the National Guard of the Russian Federation Igor Fokin, and Officer of the National Antiterrorism Committee Dmitry Melenov.
