The Ministerial Meeting of the Gas Exporting Countries Forum (GECF) will be chaired by Russia in 2017 as part of the ‘Russian Energy Week’ Energy Efficiency and Energy Development International Forum (Moscow, 3–7 October 2017).

Registration closed on 20 August for participation in the Russian contest among the media, the press services of fuel and energy companies, and regional administrations MediaTEK 2017.

The Russian Ministry of Energy has published a ‘Concept for the Development of the Market for Electricity Storage Systems in the Russian Federation’. The document aims to identify the priorities for the creation of a new high-tech branch of electricity storage systems in Russia.

The Ministry of Energy of the Russian Federation has completed a trial run of the commercial LADA VESTA CNG natural gas passenger vehicle. The test drive to determine the convenience and economic performance of the natural gas vehicle in Moscow was conducted with the support of AVTOVAZ over the course of a month – from 10 July to 10 August.

The Ministry of Energy of Russia has drafted a phased approach to replacing electricity meters with new generation devices. “Smart” electricity meters will convey energy consumption data directly to the electric grid company, thereby obviating the need to take monthly meter readings.
