St. Petersburg will host this large-scale discussion of cooperation opportunities. The World Energy Issues Monitor 2020 has been unveiled in Brussels by World Energy Council Secretary General Angela Wilkinson and Klaus-Dieter Borchardt, Deputy Director-General at the Directorate-General for Energy at the European Commission. The Minister of Energy of the Russian Federation Alexander Novak made the announcement: “In 2020 the Russian Energy Week International Forum will take place from 13 to 16 October at the Manege Central Exhibition Hall in Moscow. I urge international and Russian energy companies, experts, and regional representatives to mark the REW 2020 dates in their event planners.”
The central event of the first day of the Russian Energy Week was the ‘Energy Partnership for Sustainable Growth’ plenary session attended by President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin. Russian Minister of Energy Alexander Novak and Russian Minister of Science and Higher Education Mikhail Kotyukov held a ‘Dialogue as Equals’ with young specialists, schoolchildren, and students as part of the Youth Day programme during the Russian Energy Week International Forum.
On 5 October, the CASE-IN International Engineering Championship was held during the #TogetherBrighter Youth Day of the Russian Energy Week International Forum. The project is part of the Russia – the Land of Opportunities platform, established at the initiative of Russian President Vladimir Putin.

The 2nd Summit of the BRICS Youth Energy Agency is being held as part of the #BrighterTogether Youth Day of the Russian Energy Week (REW) International Forum. The event is organized by the BRICS YEA and MGIMO University with the support of the Russian Ministry of Energy, the Roscongress Foundation, Rosmolodezh and Rossotrudnichestvo.
The session ‘Global Energy Challenges: Focus on Talent’, held on 4 October 2019 as part of Russian Energy Week was a logical continuation of the global initiative proposed by Russia called ‘Mission: Resetting the Talent Balance’ (better known as the ‘Kazan Declaration’), supported by 38 countries in August 2019.
At the Russian Energy Week, the winners and nominees of the Russian MediaTEK 2019 Competition shared their best practices in implementing information support projects for the construction of power facilities, technology modernization, digitalization, popularization of fuel and energy careers, programmes to nudge customers to pay for services on time, and preventative energy safety programmes for children. The most notable project was the Rosseti ‘Energy Leaders’ competition.
On 4 October 2019, the Russian Energy Week International Forum hosted a panel discussion ‘Topical Issues Related to Advancing Energy and Resource Efficiency in the Eurasian Economic Union.’ The session was initiated by representatives of the UNDP Regional Office for Europe and the CIS.
